SYNOPSIS:
Jekyll & Hyde is the smash-hit Broadway musical based on the novel, "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson. The original stage conception was by Steve Cuden and Frank Wildhorn. Convinced the cure for his father's mental illness lies in the separation of Man's evil nature from his good, Dr. Henry Jekyll unwittingly unleashed his own dark side, wreaking havoc in the streets of late 19-century London as the savage, maniacal Edward Hyde. With a whole new look and feel inspired by the designs of Vivian Westwood and Baz Lurhmann, this updated classic will feature a cast of actor/singer/musicians and highlights such Broadway hit tunes like 'Someone Like You,' 'Take Me As I Am' and the hit song 'This Is The Moment.'

To be completely honest, I can't give a good reason as to why I haven't been on or checked LJ since February. I would say it's because I've been too busy to do so, but that's not really true since I've been pretty active on FB. So I supposed the true reason is just laziness for the most part and just downright forgetting to do so.
But I can say that from this point on, I will do at least one monthly post if for no other reason than to update those of my friends who are on this but not on FB as to what is going on. That and so I can keep up with messages that are sent here.
So for those of you who have only posted on LJ and not on any other blogging system I'm on since February, I will once again be able to keep up (or at least to an extent) with what's going on with you.

So for those of you who are not on Facebook, you may not know that I got my new Crackberry (the Storm - Wheeee!!!!!) today. Quite the stroke of luck and blessings for sure. The even better news is that I did back up the stuff I had on it onto my computer back in November, so I'm only missing the last 3.5 months of stuff I added since then. The problem is, I'm missing the last 3.5 months of stuff I added which does include some contacts and such.
So if you gave me any of your contact information in that time frame, I need you to send me that again. You can comment here (comments screened) if you are reading this via LJ, or message me privately. If you're reading this on FB via my blog shipper, you can message me on FB. Or if you think I should have any of your info and don't have it already, you can feel free to tell me that too.
Thanks so much for your patience in waiting for me to be reachable again.

So last night's closing night of Company went fantastically and as great as I could have hoped for. The only draw back was that at the cast party after, I LOST MY CELL PHONE!!! Arghhhhh!!!
So if you've tried to call or text me after 11 PM (ish) last night and I haven't answered back, that is why. Unfortunately, I won't be able to afford the new BB Storm that I was going to buy next week as my belated b-day present to myself until this weekend as a way to solve this problem of having no cell. So feel free to leave voice messages and I'll be checking my voicemail regularly enough to get back to you by my home phone which I'll be able to access at least 3 times a day. Otherwise you can message me here, or e-mail me and I should get them at the latest by the end of the day.
My e-mail is vivesse3@aol.com. If you think you should have my home phone number, which you should if you have my cell number, message me or e-mail me and I'll give you my home phone number if you don't already have it.
Thanks so much for understanding everyone, and I promise I'll get back on the reachable highway again soon.

My birthday was amazing. There's so much I want to say about it, but really that sums it up.
But the three main highlights:
1.) Having the Dapper Dans sing happy birthday to me (as shown below)

2.) Drinking rum on the Pirates of the Carribean ride. It's really the only way to experience it while singing along to the song.
3.) Seeing Cinderella almost break character by my not even looking at her while she was passing by because I couldn't have cared less about her since the only "princess" (although I still don't think that label is accurate in this case) I actually really like is Mulan. That also ties into how funny I think it is that the Mulan in this picture looks as Chinese as I do (which is to say, not really much).

Maybe not the most positive of epiphanies, but one nonetheless.
As adults all of us have gone through trials, tribulations, drama, traumas, problems, etc. varying from minor to major in it's intensity. And we've all gotten through them at least to the most minimal extent, otherwise we wouldn't be here.
But I just realized that the hardest ones to get through or to really get past to the point that when faced with it again, you don't turn into a blubbering baby or at least let it affect you more than if such circumstances were different, are the ones that we experienced as children. And in this statement, I include adolescence and teenage years in the time period pertaining to the "children" label I just referred to.
Simply put, the hardest things to get over or to not let it get under your skin much more easily than otherwise, are the problems, traumas, etc. that you first experienced when you were "young", using whatever definition you'd like when you think of that word.

So I was having a bad day (and it's still continuing) and figured a little distraction might help. So I went to check my e-mail. I found that my dad had sent me an e-mail with an attached .wav file. And what that was of was this:
WOW! Just wow. Now this is what I call inspirational and passion. My day is definitely the more brighter for this. This has definitely put a smile on my face.

Much like most of the posts of my friends, especially in California, I am both terribly happy and relieved that Obama is our new president, and in tears about Prop 8 currently being in a state that it seems it may pass. Although Yes on 8ers are claiming victory, opponents are not conceding (thank goodness, me included in that) and I know that the fight is still not done especially with many more votes to still be counted and with the petitions that gay-right activists are already proposing to the state Supreme Court.
But I started crying more than 2 days ago, even before voting day, after finding out that my own mother would not go to my wedding (not to mention "pretend it never happened") if I were to want to marry a woman. And my tears were further enforced when I began to imagine that I would suffer the same fate as the opponents of 8 did in Temecula and Murrieta (as seen here) if said possible wedding were to happen.
( Why )
Yes, I realize I can just as easily end up wanting to marry a man as much as I can easily end up wanting to marry a woman. And I guess that the reason why my parents haven't disowned me (and probably don't think much of my opinion on this) is because they think I care about who I care about because I'm doing it "just to spite them" or because "it's just a phase" (just like my last 10 years of being a vegetarian is "just a phase" as well, right?). But don't I and everyone else have the right to be able to share my happiness with someone else not just in emotion but in one of the foundations of a serious loving relationship which is financially and communally?
So if you are a person who engages in non-heterosexual relationships and has a family who accepts this and/or doesn't fight against not only your rights but also your happiness, be happy and thankful. It's sometimes gets easy to forget, especially in such a forward thinking city as San Francisco, area as the Bay Area, etc., that there are many others like you that don't have that support system.

OK. So after I post this, I'm going to get ready for work then pass by my polling station to vote (then get my coffee and doughnut) before heading to work.
All I have to say is if this happens to me or this happens...well...
Let's just say that it will take some serious willpower on my part NOT to make a big enough of a kerfuffle that I just might get arrested.

Having rehearsal tonight, I missed the actual showing of one of my favorite shows that I get my dancing crack fix from; "Dancing With The Stars". Thank goodness for DVRs. So I just finished watching it and all I have to say is that the best line of the week from a TV show has to be as follows:
Len Goodman (one of the judges) says his not so high opinion of Lacey & Lance's inspired performance of the rumba.
Tom Bergeron's (the host) brilliant retort to Len Goodman's feedback:
"Len, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Fiber. Fiber."
*I'm still ROFDOL*
I joined along in the braying laughter of Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba (the two other judges), and the audience.
Oh yeah. That made my night.
